percent of humans living in the defeatism-triumphalism duality

Request: I noticed that I've been living like this my whole life and I wonder how common it is in the human realm.

Defeatism underpins all experiential energy loss and self-suppression, as well as a sense of existential inadequacy and the expectation of inevitable defeat or doom. Triumphalism is the dualistic opposite, boosting experiential energy and egoic self-esteem with a sense of ultimate importance and power and the expectation of inevitable triumph and glory. Ego orientation may fix on one or the other, or alternate between extremes, e.g. manic-depressive behavior. In any case, one side of the duality is projected outward and disowned, while the other side is internalized as a fundamental ego postulate and approach to existence.
