Request: It seems to me that depression seems to be lack of love for others and/or self. Then I came across this statement in a paper today...
"This psychodynamic differentiation of two dimensions in depressive experiences— one focused on the quality of interpersonal relatedness (e.g., dependency) and the other on experiences of self-definition (e.g., self-criticism)—has been supported by extensive empirical investigation."
