that which aligns with Consciousness is already enlightened

Alignment with fields of power or force is by awareness, intention, capability, and energy quality. Thus alignments, identification, beingness, and subjective reality may be to enlightened or unenlightened levels of Consciousness. The being is not enlightened unless alignment is with enlightenment.

level: mantras and affirmations keep the ego busy so the Higher Self can shine through

Priority request: I am wondering if mantras and affirmations are a way to lessen resistance to enlightenment by getting the ego aligned with the goals of the Higher Self.

Not uncommon to hear this from a spiritual teacher. Is it true, and what is the source of it?

The keyword is actually "enlightened," not "desire."

Request: …but innocence instead.

Request: It feels like it would be nice to not have to struggle with maintaining bodily functions, to not be "bound" to a physical location, and to not be vulnerable to physical attacks or diseases.

Omnia Gratia Est

"All is by grace." The idea that everything in life, including spiritual and material blessings, is a result of God's grace.

the Spiritual Will pulls to it events that lead to its fulfillment

Doc wrote in Letting go: "We simply picture the kind of person we want to be and surrender all the negative feelings and blocks that prevent us from being that. What happens, then, is that all we need to have and to do will automatically fall into place."
