Litany of St. Joseph

"O God, in your ineffable providence you were pleased to choose Blessed Joseph to be the spouse of your most holy Mother; grant, we beg you, that we may be worthy to have him for our intercessor in heaven whom on earth we venerate as our Protector: You who live and reign forever and ever."

"Judge not lest ye be judged" - Matthew 7:1

Request: The integration of the heart and the thymus. In letting go of the judgment we place upon others, we let go of the judgment we place upon ourselves. In letting go of the judgment we have placed upon ourselves, we let go of the judgment we have placed upon others.

Ecclesiastes 1:9-10 (Lamsa translation)

King Solomon: The thing that has been is that which shall be; and which has been done is that which shall be done; and there is nothing new under the sun. Whosoever speaks and says, Look, this is new, should know that it already has been in the ages which were before us.

Hebrews 11

Request: Confused about faith. Is Hebrews 11 the best way of understanding faith? Faith in the things unseen. That means trusting God about the things you cant see with your own two eyes right?

Dhammapada

Request: Collection of sayings of the Buddha in verse form and one of the most widely read and best known Buddhist scriptures.

"the female body is polluted; it is not a fit vessel for the Dharma"

Request: A quote from the Lotus Sutra (cal. 780 TvF), chapter XII.

"I believe God gives me the desires of my heart"

Request: Taken from scripture. Maybe a good belief to have as it will translate to abundance, with integrity coming from the heart's motivation. My spiritual ego resisted this one pretty hard. Psalm 37: 4: Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Abhidharma

Request: [ancient] detailed scholastic presentations of doctrinal material appearing in the Buddhist sutras.

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world...

"...He who loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him." -- 1 John 2:15

"Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall"

Proverbs 16:18. Request: Things go really well for me then I become prideful and go off on my own, thinking I can do better without others. I either leave or tell them to leave, neglecting the fact that the reason I am doing well is because they are in my life.

Gospel of Nicodemus

Request: also known as the Acts of Pilate is an apocryphal gospel claimed to have been derived from an original Hebrew work written by Nicodemus, who appears in the Gospel of John as an associate of Jesus -- wikipedia

"Everything is lawful for me, but not everything is expedient..."

"... everything is lawful for me, but everything does not edify" -- 1 Corinthians 10:23. Priority request

Tibetan Book of the Dead

The book is calibrated at 575 in TvF, but there's some bizarre stuff in there, i.e. Chapter 8, "Natural Liberation through Recognition of the Visual Indications and Signs of Death." Should we take it seriously?

"abstain from all appearance of evil"

Bible verse: 1 Thessalonians 5:22 (KJV)

Bhagavad Gita on repression

"Even a man of knowledge acts according to his own nature, for everyone follows the nature he has acquired from the three modes. What can repression accomplish?" -- Chapter 3:33, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada translation
